Friday 5 December 2025 - The Scrooge Diaries
"In this revelatory exclusive, Ebeneezer Scrooge opens his Diary to expose the awful truth about Tiny Tim, the Fezziwigs, Jacob Marley… and that disgustingly jolly, gluttonous, consumer-driven Ghost of Christmas Present… as he reveals the truth behind a Christmas Carol and the vengeful, slanderous, upstart author of that novel. “A wickedly wild and witty play” "Peter MacQueen......curmudgeonly, penny-pinching and old before his time." "A Scrooge with depth, wit and humanity."
Saturday 8 November 2025 - Alligator Gumbo
Alligator Gumbo have been playing together since the summer of 2011. Based in Leeds, West Yorkshire, they have played extensively around the country to rave reviews - from rowdy bars to some of the UK’s most prestigious jazz festivals.
Playing jazz from the hey-day of the New Orleans swing/jazz era, in particular the roaring 20’s when music was raw and largely improvised with melodies and solos happening simultaneously which has now become defined as the ‘New Orlean’ sound. Alligator Gumbo strive to keep this style alive in their renditions of popular songs from this unique time and place.
A brilliant night in the Hall on their last visit and another much anticipated in November!
Get those feet tapping !
Saturday 27th September - Gary Stewart
Gary Stewart is a Scottish singer/songwriter who has carved out a strong fan-base in his adopted home of Yorkshire with songs about love & resilience. When not playing his own music, the left-hander plays drums for fellow Bandcampers Hope & Social, bass for Leeds-based Fleetwood Mac tribute ‘Weetwood Mac’ and performs regularly up & down the U.K, performing Paul Simon’s classic 1986 album ‘Graceland’ with his seven-piece band.
Influenced by the major singer/songwriters of the sixties and seventies, Gary writes, records and performs music in the Folk/Pop vein. The Scottish songsmith has released four albums to date – his latest, ‘Lost, Now Found‘, self-recorded, produced and released in June 2021. His debut record, ‘Boy Cries Wolf‘, garnered much praise from Janice Long and was played on Radio Two courtesy of Steve Lamacq. Gary is also no stranger to the Festival circuit, having played Kendal Calling, Green Man and Shrewsbury Folk Festival to name but a few.
For his visit to Grewelthorpe, Gary will be performing a set of his owns songs plus a set of Paul Simon songs.
A " not to be missed" evening !!
