Saturday 8 November 2025 - Alligator Gumbo
Alligator Gumbo have been playing together since the summer of 2011. Based in Leeds, West Yorkshire, they have played extensively around the country to rave reviews - from rowdy bars to some of the UK’s most prestigious jazz festivals.
Playing jazz from the hey-day of the New Orleans swing/jazz era, in particular the roaring 20’s when music was raw and largely improvised with melodies and solos happening simultaneously which has now become defined as the ‘New Orlean’ sound. Alligator Gumbo strive to keep this style alive in their renditions of popular songs from this unique time and place.

Saturday 28th February 2026 - Theatre performance from BadApple Theatre Company - "Life of Amy Johnson"
Director Kate Bramley’s drama follows the life of the Hull-born aviatrix, Amy Johnson, who was first woman to fly solo from the UK to Australia.
During the Second World War she played a vital role as one of a team of female pilots working as auxiliary personnel and the production features a 2/3 replica bi-plane.
The play celebrates Amy Johnson's pioneering career and explores her final mysterious journey. She died aged 37 after her plane came down in the Thames Estuary on January 5, 1941, in circumstances that have never been fully explained.
Badapple Theatre Company is one of the most prolific and original rural touring companies in the UK with a mission to take first-rate shows to small rural venues
Amy Johnson stars actors Sarah Raine and Frances Tither and has original songs and music by Jez Lowe, Sony award-winning singer-songwriter who recently worked with Michael Morpurgo on a BBC Radio 2 collaboration , Alone on a Wide Wide Sea.
Saturday 11th April 2026 - Belinda O'Hooley
An exceptionally gifted pianist, singer, songwriter, and composer who has become renowned for her highly individual, emotional, yet sensitive musicality. Belinda is also one half of the much-loved Yorkshire folk duo O’Hooley & Tidow alongside her wife Heidi Tidow; together described by The Guardian as ‘exceptional songwriters.’ The duo have been propelled into fame for penning the theme tune to Sally Wainwright’s hit BBC1/HBO drama ‘Gentleman Jack’, earning them global admiration, plus an acting role for Belinda on the iconic TV drama Happy Valley, appearances on Radio 4 Woman’s Hour and concerts that sell out months in advance.
Belinda is also known for her inventive, minimalist, sometimes flamboyant accompanying of folk luminaries including Rufus Wainwright, Nic Jones, Jackie Oates and the Mercury-nominated Rachel Unthank and The Winterset.
Her solo album ‘Inversions’ showcases Belinda’s abilities as a composer and pianist with many of the piano pieces inspired by the songs and tunes her father inherited from a long line of male musicians in the hills of the West coast of rural Ireland. Belinda, the first woman in her family to reclaim the tradition, has found the freedom to express the music of her ancestors in her very own, unconventional way, evolving and migrating into something you could describe as an inversion: a reversal of the norm.
