Booked for 2024

25th May - Jack Badcock
Singer and guitarist, Jack Badcock is a veteran performer, having toured extensively  both as a solo artist and as frontman and founding member of renowned world-folk band Dallahan. A previous finalist in the BBC Young Traditional Musician of the Year Award, his 2021 EP, The Driftwood Project was nominated for Original Work of the Year at the BBC Scots Music Awards and in 2022 he was selected by Celtic Connections to write and perform an hour of original music with a full band for the prestigious New Voices commission at Glasgow’s Royal Concert Hall. With a decade of touring under his belt, Jack’s stagecraft is relaxed and inviting, confidently engaging with his audiences on stages of any size. His solo material reveals his astute songcraft , all delivered with a musical sensitivity clearly influenced by American folk, funk and soul music as much as the traditional music from Britain and Ireland.

2nd November – Chris Bannister
An evening with Chris Bannister is an evening of rare quality and it is easy to see how he has gained an international reputation and has delighted fans for over two decades. Chris made his debut sell-out appearance at the VH in 2021, with a performance based around the songs of John Denver.
We are pleased to welcome him back again for a combination of well known covers and his own material

14th September – New World String Quartet
Comprising players from the orchestra of Opera North, the New World String Quartet celebrates 20 years of making music in 2024 and we are very pleased for them to be making a return visit to the Village Hall in this special year.
The evening will be based around Vivaldi’s Four Seasons.  Music lovers who saw and heard them last time around with us will remember the energetic  performances and lively introductions and chat !

12th October - The Wilderness Yet
The Wilderness Yet combines the acclaimed talents of folksinger Rosie Hodgson, traditional fiddler Rowan Piggot and guitarist/flautist Philippe Barnes. Independently, they have earned audiences’ esteem as consummate musicians; together, they weave an eclectic tapestry of traditional and original songs and tunes, from cappella three-part harmonies to luscious instrumental arrangements.
